Robin
Simpson, OD
Dr.
Simpson grew up in Vancouver where his father was a well-known eye surgeon.
He attended high school at University Hill and Lord Bing Secondary. He
attended UVIC, UBC, Pacific University and the University
of Waterloo, where he completed his Doctorate
of Optometry.
Dr. Simpson first
practiced in Prince George where he provided mobile optometric services
to isolated communities from Valemont to Hazelton and Quesnel to Mackenzie.
In 1985 he returned to Vancouver and joined Mount Pleasant Optometry Centre where he became very well known for being an excellent specialty contact lens fitter. In fact Mount Pleasant Optometry's involvement in Accelerated Orthokeratology (AOK) started with Dr. Simpson, who
was appointed to an international panel of researchers conducting the FDA
study.
In the community, Dr. Simpson has coached Little League and taught sailing.
His lifelong love affair with the sea has lead to three pacific crossings
as well as a Caribbean transit and other offshore adventures. Currently
he is 'semi-retired' and lives on the Sunshine Coast where he spends as much time as he can with his family now including 2 grandkids.
Dr. Simpson believes
strongly in the value of community, and enjoys the long relationship he
has with his patients. Indeed, when he does come in to work for us his scheduled days are quickly booked up with his long-term supporters.
